Customark Updates Bindery with CCM Premier 78
When Customark needed to quickly replace an aging guillotine it turned to long-term supplier TCS and chose a CCM Premier 78. The West Midlands market leader in self-adhesive labels was established in 1970 and is today owned by Greg Lerigo. It produces a wide variety of industrial labels and graphics for leading electronics manufacturers including Sharp, Honeywell, Makita and Schneider Electric. There are now 90 employees across four sites of the £4.7m operation. The new guillotine has been installed at its Calne facility.
“We had an older guillotine and it was time to replace it,” says Lerigo. “We have worked with TCS in the past so I called them up to talk about a quick second hand replacement.“But it soon became clear the new Premier 78 did everything we were looking for and it was a great price. It made sense to go for the new system.“We have worked with Terry Cooper Services in the past and know and trust its service and support.” As for the guillotine itself he says: “We know the Premier range well and were confident that it would do a good job. It has been perfect from day one. We are very pleased.”
With a 78cm cutting width the CCM Premier 78 has a heavy build that reduces vibration, improves machine life and cutting accuracy. It also offers deep clamp opening to accept more paper to reduce overall cutting time, optical shaft encoder on high speed backgauge for faster operation and accurate cutting, large side tables for easier paper handling, infra-red slimline light barriers, improved centralised oiling wear free bearings and totally enclosed knife change with monitored single shear bolt protection, turnbuckle adjustment, for a fast, safe, easy knife change. Enhanced features include programmability and memory storage.
